A devastating fire at the Utumishi Female Academy in Gilgil has resulted in the deaths of 16 students.Emergency services and the Red Cross responded to the blaze which destroyed the dormitory housing 815 students.Government officials including Julius Ogamba are currently investigating the cause of this midnight tragedy.The incident has prompted calls for improved safety standards across all boarding schools in the country.
