Haitian task force and Vectus Global drones kill 1,243 people

Human Rights Watch says drones operated by a task force created by Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé with support from the US contractor Vectus Global have killed at least 1,243 people in Port-au-Prince.The group documents 738 injured, 17 children among the dead, video evidence of explosive-laden quadcopters, one strike that killed 57 people, 141 reported missions and a surge of 57 operations between November and January.Juanita Goebertus of Human Rights Watch and UN officials including Volker Türk demand transparency, an independent review and accountability while prosecutions tied to the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse remain stalled and suspects face a trial in the USA.
