A patient at Södersjukhuset in Stockholm has undergone a successful double hand transplant from a deceased donor after losing both hands to a severe infection.Tobias Laurell, the head of the department and hand surgeon, noted that the patient has begun using the new hands for everyday tasks three months post-surgery.The journey for the patient involves ongoing rehabilitation with a team of specialists including two occupational therapists and two physiotherapists.
