The Senate unanimously passed a resolution urging President Donald Trump not to pardon Ghislaine Maxwell, the convicted accomplice of Jeffrey Epstein, who is serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking of minors.Introduced by Jacky Rosen, the nonbinding measure stresses that Maxwell exhausted appeals after the US Supreme Court declined to hear her petition and says pardons, commutations or other clemency would undermine accountability. The resolution comes as questions persist about whether any clemency might be traded for testimony, about Maxwell’s transfer to a Texas minimum-security prison camp overseen during the tenure of acting attorney general
Todd Blanche, and about survivors who strongly oppose mercy.
