Donald Trump Pushes Indefinite Control of Venezuela Oil

#SanPedro, #Venezuela
Donald Trump said the USA will market Venezuela’s crude “indefinitely” after U.S. forces captured Nicolás Maduro and moved him to New York, outlining a plan for American firms to spend billions repairing oil infrastructure while selling PdVSA output through deals similar to Chevron’s.Marco Rubio described a three-step approach to stabilize Venezuela, secure U.S. oil-company access and oversee a power transition, as energy secretary Chris Wright said the USA will first sell stored crude and then keep selling ongoing production into global markets.Brazil’s Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva rallied regional diplomacy following the raid and strikes in Caracas, while Venezuela announced prisoner releases that freed Enrique Márquez and Rocío San Miguel but left rights groups pressing for proof, due process and assurances against rearrest.
