Security Forces Kill Brahim Bahrir at Arc de Triomphe

Security forces shot and killed 47-year-old Brahim Bahrir after he attempted to stab a gendarme at the Arc de Triomphe during a ceremony on Friday.The French national had recently been released from a 17-year prison sentence in Belgium for previous terrorist acts and was under active surveillance.Emmanuel Macron classified the incident as an Islamist terrorist attack while the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor's Office launched a formal investigation.
