A suspected accomplice was arrested and one motorcycle recovered following the killing of Barcelona Sporting Club defender Mario Alberto Pineida Martínez and his partner, Guisella Fernández Ramírez at a butcher shop in north Guayaquil, following earlier reports that Pineida, his partner and his mother were attacked while making purchases.Security camera footage and investigators say two gunmen fired at point-blank range, leaving Pineida's mother wounded and at least 17 shell casings recovered as prosecutors probe possible threats, organized-crime links and Fernández's prior legal and business disputes.
