Yoon Suk Yeol Gets Five-Year Sentence for Martial Law Attempt
Former South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol received a five-year prison sentence following his conviction for abuse of power and obstruction of justice.The Seoul court found Yoon guilty of fabricating documents and defying detention during his failed 2024 attempt to impose martial law.Yoon currently faces seven additional trials including an insurrection case where prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for alleged rebellion.
