The Swedish police have launched the campaign "Dare to be rude – it could save you from being scammed" featuring Sverker Olofsson, Lasse Åberg, Agneta Sjödin, Lotta Engberg, Marianne Rundström, and Janne Andersson to combat a surge of fraud, notably phone scams targeting the elderly.According to Lotta Mauritzson, criminals have exploited a Supreme Court of Sweden ruling to create new legal loopholes, resulting in sophisticated fraud schemes such as vishing and even "physical vishing" with accomplices visiting victims’ homes.Authorities including the National Operational Department, Swedish Tax Agency, Klarna, Stöldskyddsföreningen, Svenska Postkodlotteriet, and the Swedish Economic Crime Authority warn citizens about fraudulent emails, phone calls, and fake webshops, urging the public to never share personal details or BankID codes and to stay vigilant as tactics evolve.
