Jacques Leveugle Faces Charges for 89 Rapes in Nine Nations

French prosecutor Etienne Manteaux issued a public appeal for testimony after Jacques Leveugle was charged with the aggravated rape and sexual assault of 89 minors across nine countries.The 79-year-old former teacher was arrested in 2024 after his nephew found a USB drive containing fifteen volumes of memoirs documenting decades of abuse between 1967 and 2022.A separate murder investigation has been launched after Jacques Leveugle confessed to suffocating his mother and aunt with pillows in what he described as mercy killings.
