Saint Francis of Assisi's remains displayed for 800th anniversary

Thousands of pilgrims gathered at the Basilica of San Francesco in Assisi as the remains of Saint Francis were displayed publicly for the first time in nearly fifty years.The exhibition marks the 800th anniversary of the death of the saint in 1226, with approximately 400,000 people from across the globe already reserving spots.The display includes the relics of Carlo Acutis and precedes a scheduled visit by Leo XIV to the Italian pilgrimage site on August 6.
