Hochul and Mamdani Announce $4.5 Billion Childcare Expansion

New York Governor Kathy Hochul and Mayor Zohran Mamdani have launched a $4.5 billion initiative to provide statewide universal childcare and expand pre-K access.The "2-Care" program will initially target two-year-olds with a $75 million investment, aiming to reach every four-year-old in the state by 2028.Following the agreement, Zohran Mamdani also defended city sanctuary policies during an interview on "FAQ NYC", requiring ICE to present judicial warrants.
