Letitia James Sues After Trump Funding Freeze Expands

#NewYork, #USA
Letitia James and four other Democratic attorneys general sued after the Trump administration froze billions for childcare, cash assistance, and social services, citing fraud concerns and demanding extensive recipient data from states.HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. defended the cutoff on CBS News, saying funds will stay blocked until states present “a workable plan” to eliminate fraud, and adding the duration is “up to them.”The fight follows a White House briefing where JD Vance highlighted an interagency fraud task force tied to Minneapolis day-care allegations, said DOJ issued over 1,500 subpoenas and won almost 100 indictments, and announced plans for a new nationwide associate attorney general role starting in Minnesota.
