Seven-Ton Meteor Causes Sonic Boom and Daylight Fireball Over Ohio Traveling at 45,000 Miles Per Hour

A seven-ton meteor traveling at 45,000 miles per hour created a massive sonic boom and a daylight fireball visible across several states after fragmenting over northern Ohio.NASA confirmed the two-meter asteroid released energy equivalent to 250 tons of explosives as it disintegrated over Valley City while traveling southeast toward Medina County.Although the explosion was heard as far as Pennsylvania and New York, the National Weather Service reported that no physical debris from the fragmentation has been recovered.
