Australia evacuates 1,000 amid record floods and crocodile danger

Lia Finocchiaro confirmed the evacuation of more than one thousand residents in the Northern Territory after the Katherine River reached record heights.The government has launched emergency financial assistance for families while the Stuart Highway remains closed due to severe inundation.Shaun Gill warned the public to stay out of the water as over one hundred thousand crocodiles are moving through flooded residential zones.The Bureau of Meteorology expects the flooding to continue for another week as a tropical low pressure system moves toward Queensland.
