Companies Await Supreme Court Tariff Ruling on Refunds

#WashingtonDC, #USA
More than 1,000 companies are awaiting an imminent U.S. Supreme Court ruling that could determine whether they can reclaim duties paid under Donald Trump-era tariffs, after challenges argued the president exceeded emergency powers.Costco, which joined the lawsuit unlike Walmart and Target, declined to say whether it would pass any recovered money back to customers, as CFO Gary Millerchip said it was not commenting.Amy Coney Barrett highlighted potential reimbursement complications during arguments, while Italian glassmaker Essilux is among firms pressing appeals as the dispute unfolds amid an October U.S. trade deficit at its lowest level since 2009.
