Over 500,000 Displaced in Lebanon as Israeli Phosphorus Use Reported

Israeli military operations and helicopter raids against Hezbollah in Lebanon have displaced over 500,000 civilians as the death toll from the week-long campaign reaches 400 people.Human Rights Watch reported the illegal use of white phosphorus in residential areas including Yohmor and Tal Nahas while Lebanon accused Israel of spraying glyphosate herbicide near the border.The regional escalation follows the death of Iran supreme leader Ali Khamenei and has triggered missile strikes across the Middle East while driving oil prices above 110 dollars per barrel.Prime Minister Nawaf Salam described the situation as an unprecedented crisis while the United Nations called for an immediate de-escalation of hostilities to protect vulnerable families.
