Alaska election officials barred Daniel J. Sullivan from the state's primary ballot after ruling his candidacy was a bad-faith effort to mislead voters.Director Carol Beecher determined the challenger used campaign tactics designed to mimic incumbent Senator Dan S. Sullivan to disrupt the competitive race. The decision follows a formal investigation led by Lieutenant Governor Nancy Dahlstrom into allegations that the candidacy was intended to boost Mary Peltola. While the challenger maintains his run was inspired by policy grievances, he now has thirty days to appeal the state’s binding disqualification ruling.
