António José Seguro won the Portuguese presidential election runoff on Sunday, securing approximately 66.6% of the vote against far-right opponent André Ventura.The victory for the moderate socialist follows a campaign disrupted by Storm Leonardo, which caused severe flooding and forced voting postponements in several municipalities.António José Seguro will succeed Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa in March and is expected to maintain a cooperative relationship with Prime Minister Luís Montenegro.
