Joseph McGrail-Bateup records a 122.4 dB shout in a Canberra studio that Guinness World Records recognizes as the new loudest shout, surpassing Annalisa Flanagan's 121.7 dB.The 58-year-old professional air conditioner cleaner and Canberra town crier achieved the peak after seven attempts; a professional acoustic engineer measured the sound and witnesses validated the attempt.McGrail-Bateup, a member of the Ancient and Honorable Guild of Australian Town Criers and a former speed-archery record holder, said the effort left his voice hoarse and welcomed others to try to break the mark.
