Nathan Lee Gill was sentenced to ten and a half years in prison at London's Central Criminal Court for accepting approximately £40,000 in bribes from pro-Russian Ukrainian figures between December 2018 and July 2019. Gill pleaded guilty to eight counts of bribery linked to payments from Oleg Voloshyn, a former pro-Russian Ukrainian MP with Kremlin ties, and made pro-Russian statements defending media outlets affiliated with oligarch Viktor Medvedchuk. Prosecutors also revealed Gill arranged visits to Ukraine funded by lobbyist Janusz Niedzwiecki, aiming to promote a Kremlin-backed "peace plan for Donbas" and counter Ukrainian government efforts to shut down pro-Russian channels.
