StubHub Faces Class Action Over World Cup Ticket Cancellations and Alleged False Sales

Plaintiffs Julia Reeker Moghal and Reuben Renteria sue StubHub in Manhattan federal court, saying orders for World Cup resale tickets were canceled or never delivered.Moghal says she paid $1.9K for three Switzerland-Bosnia tickets at SoFi Stadium and Renteria says he paid $2.3K for two Mexico-South Korea tickets in Guadalajara, and both report losses beyond refunds.The complaint seeks class-action status, an injunction to stop StubHub from selling World Cup tickets, restitution of profits to affected buyers and at least $5M in damages.StubHub blames problems in the Fédération Internationale de Football Association ticketing systems and cites its FanProtect Guarantee, while the sport’s governing body says it has no control over third-party resale platforms.
