France confirms its first case of Ebola on mainland territory after a doctor who recently returned from the Democratic Republic of Congo tests positive and is isolated in a specialized facility.The French Ministry of Health says contact tracing and testing of people who had contact with the patient are underway and that all precautionary measures have been implemented to contain transmission.Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu and the French Ministry of Health are monitoring the case closely while the World Health Organization reports the outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo has infected more than 1,000 people and caused 267 deaths.Officials maintain the risk to the general European population is low but say vigilance, continued monitoring and public information will guide any further measures.
