Former Shelby officer Karson Blake Hyder faces misdemeanor assault charges after doorbell video showed him repeatedly punching Cherrie Moore during an arrest.Following the incident, Police Chief Brad Fraser fired Hyder while the State Bureau of Investigation launched a probe into the excessive force used.While Moore still faces a breaking and entering charge, prosecutors dropped additional counts of resisting arrest after she suffered facial injuries during the struggle.Hyder surrendered to authorities and was released on a ten thousand dollar bond ahead of his first court appearance scheduled for this Tuesday.
