Seven people have died in the Austrian Alps following a series of devastating avalanches triggered by heavy snowfall and high winds since Friday.Rescuers recovered a 41-year-old man in Tyrol and a 21-year-old on Mount Hoher Zinken after both succumbed to injuries on Saturday.Anton Mattle noted that the fatalities include citizens from the USA and Poland who were caught in dangerous off-piste conditions.Jörg Randl from the Austrian Alpine Club urged enthusiasts to avoid backcountry areas as high warnings and road closures isolate popular resorts.
