Nearly 19 million voters in Nepal are casting ballots for 275 parliamentary seats in the first national election since a youth-led uprising last year.Former rapper Balendra Shah is leading a challenge against established figures like KP Sharma Oli and Gagan Thapa following the fall of the previous government.The vote occurs after intense protests against corruption and a social media ban resulted in at least 77 deaths across the country.Balendra Shah has promised to double the economy and create 1.2 million jobs to appeal to the 52% of voters who are under age 40.
