Mark Carney and Xi Jinping Announce Landmark Canada-China Trade Deal

Mark Carney and Xi Jinping signed a landmark trade agreement in Beijing to significantly reduce tariffs on electric vehicles and agricultural products.Canada will slash duties on Chinese electric vehicles from 100 percent to 6.1 percent for a limited number of imports while China reduces tariffs on Canadian canola from approximately 85 percent to 15 percent.The move aims to diversify the Canadian economy away from the USA following trade threats from Trump regarding tariffs and the proposed annexation of Greenland.
