Thomas Plamberger Sentenced Following Death of Kerstin Gurtner
Thomas Plamberger received a five-month suspended sentence after an Innsbruck court convicted him of involuntary manslaughter for the death of Kerstin Gurtner on the Grossglockner.The 33-year-old woman died of hypothermia in January 2025 during a mountain ascent where Thomas Plamberger failed to provide her with survival gear before seeking help.Norbert Hofer also ordered the 37-year-old to pay a fine of approximately €9,600 after ruling that his failure to report the emergency severity constituted gross negligence.
