David Streever is suing the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement after federal agents visited his Rochester home and sought him at a New York City hotel over a critical email to Todd Lyons earlier this year. The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression represents Mr. Streever and says the email is protected political speech; the complaint names Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin and three agents and asks a court to bar further government retaliation. The suit echoes a separate warning to
Paigelynne Gonyea and has prompted a review by the New York Attorney General's Office while Department of Homeland Security officials maintain they investigate credible threats to employees.
