Ron Wyden says he has credible information that the Trump administration is preparing to deport more than 500 unaccompanied migrant children from federal custody.The Department of Health and Human Services denies a plan for mass removals and says officials are seeking safe placement with properly vetted sponsors.Most of the children come from Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Afghanistan, have spent at least six months in foster care and many are represented by counsel.Wyden warns the effort would bypass legal protections under the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2008, notes a federal judge halted a similar attempt last year and demands immediate suspension and a written explanation.
