Micah Lasher Wins Manhattan Democratic Primary, Defeating Jack Schlossberg and Alex Bores

Micah Lasher wins the Democratic primary in New York’s 12th Congressional District, defeating Jack Kennedy Schlossberg and Alex Bores in a contest defined by heavy outside spending and deep local endorsements. The open seat follows the retirement of Jerrold Nadler and the primary effectively determines representation for a heavily Democratic Manhattan district that includes the Upper East Side, the Upper West Side, Midtown and Chelsea.Jack Kennedy Schlossberg, 33, campaigned without political action committee money and relied on the Kennedy family name, a strong social media presence and endorsements from Nancy Pelosi and Antony Blinken but struggled with limited local organization.Alex Bores campaigned on tech regulation with support from Our Revolution, while Lasher drew unions, former mayor Michael Bloomberg and Governor Kathy Hochul and benefitted from coordinated outside spending and traditional political networks.
