Trucker Peter Garamone was killed by a lightning strike at a Kwik Trip gas station in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, during a severe storm.The 41-year-old Pennsylvania resident is the first recorded lightning fatality in the US for 2026.Officials from the National Lightning Safety Council confirmed the incident while noting that such deaths remain statistically rare occurrences in the country.
