American envoy Steve Witkoff participated in a trilateral meeting in New York on Sunday with Israeli Mossad chief David Barnea and a Qatari representative to rebuild ties between Qatar and Israel.The discussions aimed to mend relations following a September Israeli strike on Hamas in Doha, which caused dismay in Washington and escalated tensions with Qatar.Parties also addressed the USA's peace plan for the Gaza conflict, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to meet Donald Trump later this month to discuss ending Hamas rule.
