Administration Declares War on Sugar Following Launch of New Dietary Guidelines

Officials launched a formal war on added sugar following the release of the updated 2025-2030 Dietary Guidelines for Americans on Wednesday.The new ten-page document doubles recommended protein intake and endorses saturated fats from red meat and dairy for the first time in decades.The policy replaces the MyPlate system with a flipped food pyramid and will reshape federal food programs including SNAP and school lunches.
