#CransMontana, #Switzerland
Swiss authorities believe a rapid flashover triggered by champagne sparklers caused the fire that killed 40 people at Le Constellation bar in Crans-Montana.Lead investigator Béatrice Pilloud stated that preliminary evidence shows indoor pyrotechnics likely ignited flammable acoustic foam on the ceiling during New Year celebrations. The disaster has prompted Mats Björs and the Swedish Fire Protection Association to demand an international ban on indoor pyrotechnics to prevent similar tragedies.
