The Federal Communications Commission (FCC), led by Chairman Brendan Carr, has launched an investigation into the BBC following controversies over a Panorama documentary titled "Trump: A Second Chance." The documentary misleadingly edited parts of Donald Trump's January 6, 2021 speech to imply he incited supporters to storm the Capitol, which the BBC has apologized for but refused to offer financial compensation. Brendan Carr also contacted NPR and PBS to examine if FCC regulations were violated, with two senior BBC executives and a non-executive board member resigning amid the fallout.
