Tourists Stranded on Socotra Following Airspace Closure

Hundreds of foreign nationals remain stranded on Socotra after a state of emergency led to the closure of all ports of entry on the Yemeni island.Italy confirmed that 86 of its citizens are among the travelers unable to leave following a territorial dispute between Saudi Arabia and the UAE.Local official Yahya bin Afrar noted that the tensions have disrupted travel to the UNESCO World Heritage Site which is a popular destination for adventure tourism.
