Eight men have been sentenced to prison terms between three and 15 years after seven migrants died attempting to cross the English Channel. The convicted were found guilty of running a human smuggling ring and manslaughter after a boat capsized due to mechanical failure. Ibrahim A., a Sudanese man who captained the capsized boat, was acquitted and considered mainly a victim of the smugglers.
