Lindsey Vonn underwent surgery for a broken leg following a violent crash during the downhill event at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Cortina d’Ampezzo.The athlete hit a gate just 13 seconds into her run on the Olympia delle Tofane course before being airlifted to the Ca’ Foncello hospital in Treviso.While teammate Breezy Johnson secured the gold medal, trainer Aksel Lund Svindal and International Ski Federation President Johan Eliasch defended the decision for Lindsey Vonn to compete.
