An inquiry into allegations that South Africa's Black-led governments interfered with investigations into apartheid-era crimes was delayed on its first day due to objections regarding one of the inquiry's lawyers. Cyril Ramaphosa ordered the inquiry following pressure from victims' families, who accuse post-apartheid governments of failing to prosecute those responsible for unresolved crimes. The inquiry is scheduled to resume on November 26, when an application concerning the inquiry's chief evidence leader, Ishmael Semenya, will be reviewed.
