Flash Floods in Afghanistan Kill 17 Following Heavy Rainfall

At least 17 people died and 11 others were injured after the first heavy seasonal rains and snowfall triggered flash floods across several regions of Afghanistan.Mohammad Yousaf Hammad reported that the severe weather impacted approximately 1,800 families and destroyed critical infrastructure while ending a prolonged drought.The disaster follows a $1.7 billion UN appeal launched earlier this week to provide humanitarian assistance to nearly 18 million people in the vulnerable nation.
