Singer Neil Sedaka Dies at 86 Following a Prolific Music Career

Neil Sedaka, the prolific singer-songwriter and co-founder of The Tokens who wrote over 700 songs, died at age 86 in a Los Angeles hospital as confirmed by Variety.The Brooklyn-born Juilliard School prodigy rose to fame as a teen idol before staging a 1970s comeback on the Rocket Records label of Elton John.Neil Sedaka was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame after a career of writing hits for Connie Francis and ABBA.He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Leba Strassberg, and their children following a career that spanned six decades.
