Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly issued a permanent injunction against provisions in a Donald Trump executive order requiring agencies to assess USA citizenship for voter registration.The court ruled the directive violated the National Voter Registration Act and the constitutional separation of powers by infringing upon the authority of Congress to regulate elections.While White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson expressed confidence in an eventual victory, the Democratic National Committee and the League of Women Voters celebrated the ruling.
