Updated: Saturday
Donald Trump and his administration announced that starting in 2026 the National Park Service will offer free entry on June 14 at 116 of the most-visited parks, including Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon and Everglades. The plan stems from the July executive order "Making America Beautiful Again", sets annual-pass prices at $80 for residents and $250 for non-residents starting January 1, and creates a $100 entry fee at 11 parks for international visitors without an annual pass. The policy removes Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth from resident free-day schedules, keeps Veterans Day, and directs parks to review retail items tied to DEI under Secretary's Order 3416.
