Health Authorities Recommend Masks as Flu Cases Surge Globally

Authorities in the Canary Islands are urging the use of face masks in medical centers following a rapid surge in flu cases.The CDC reported that more than half of U.S. states are experiencing high levels of illness driven by a new H3N2 variant known as subclade K.Virus expert Andrew Pekosz noted that while this year's vaccine is not a perfect match for the mutation, it still provides significant protection against severe hospitalization.
