Narges Mohammadi Sentenced to 7.5 More Years in Prison

Nobel Peace Prize laureate Narges Mohammadi received an additional seven and a half years in prison and two years of internal exile following a ruling by a Revolutionary Court.The 53-year-old activist refused to defend herself during the proceedings as she considers the judicial system illegitimate while continuing her advocacy against capital punishment.This latest sentencing follows the arrest of Narges Mohammadi on December 12 after she was beaten by security agents during a memorial service for Khosrow Alikordi.
