Tommy Schaefer Deported to USA After Term for Bali Suitcase Murder

Tommy Schaefer was deported to the USA after completing an eleven-year prison sentence in Indonesia for the 2014 murder of Sheila von Wiese-Mack.The case, known as the Bali suitcase murder, involved the killing of the 62-year-old victim during a luxury vacation at the St. Regis Bali Resort.Heather Mack, the daughter of the victim and accomplice to the crime, was deported in 2021 and is serving a 26-year sentence in Chicago.Indonesian officials confirmed that Tommy Schaefer was escorted to the airport following remissions for good behavior that reduced his original term.
