George Hooley, a British Special Forces soldier, died in Ukraine recently following a training accident while observing the testing of a British-made MSI-DS Terrahawk anti-aircraft cannon.The incident, which also involved several Ukrainian comrades, marks the first UK service member death on duty in Ukraine since February 2022.Hooley, 28, served with the Parachute Regiment and the Special Forces Support Group, having a distinguished career including deployments to Afghanistan, Africa, and Eastern Europe; his company commander described him as a "born soldier" with extraordinary energy and kindness.
