Andrew Ranken of The Pogues Dies at 72 After Years of Music

Andrew Ranken, the drummer and co-founder of the influential folk-rock band The Pogues, has died at the age of 72.The musician was described by his former bandmates as the heartbeat of the group which he helped establish in 1983 alongside late frontman Shane MacGowan.His death follows the passing of Shane MacGowan in 2023 and marks the loss of another key member responsible for hits like the holiday classic "Fairytale of New York."
