Cedric Irving Jr. has been charged with the murder of John Beam, a former football coach at Laney College who died after being shot at the college's athletics field.Irving confessed to the shooting and was arrested at the San Leandro BART station with the firearm used in the attack.He faces up to 50 years to life in prison and appeared in court without entering a plea, while Beam's family and friends attended the hearing.
